"Clara Barton" Cabinet Card Signed Twice

CLARA BARTON, Organized the American Red Cross.
6.5" x 4.25", Cabinet Card, Twice Signed "Clara Barton," Very Fine. Photograph is of Clara Barton in partial profile wearing a jacket and high collared blouse with a "Red Cross" brouch at the neckline. Her clear signature in Brown ink is on the lower edge of the photograph . This cabinet card is inscribed on the reverse: "In glad memory of the olden days and friends long gone - Clara Barton."

Clarissa Harlowe Barton (December 25, 1821 – April 12, 1912) was a pioneer American teacher, nurse, and humanitarian. She has been described as having a "strong and independent spirit" and is best remembered for organizing the American Red Cross.
