Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, "Salon des Cent"

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, French, 1864-1901. Henri Toulouse-Lautrec became one of France's most prominent Post-Impressionist painters and capturing the night life of part of the city, was described as "the soul of Montmartre." He also did a number of illustrations for the magazine Le Rire during the 1890s's. Les maîtres de l'affiche is a famous collection of comtemporary French and international posters of the years 1890-1900, published in a little smaller size for subscribers from December 1895 to November 1900. Salon des Cent is a Les maitres de l'affiche or miniature poster, depicting a woman Henri had seen once and fell in love with. "31 ne Bonaparte Exposition Internationale d' affiches", 9" H x 6" W. Mounted on rag paper in conservation framed gilt wood frame. Excellent condition. Knollwood Art Frame label Bloomfield Hills, MI label en verso.
