Private John Shewalter's Sword & Sidearm Pistol

Private John Shewalter, consignors Great, Great Grandfather. Thirty-ninth regiment Indiana. Became prisoner of the Civil War. Passed down to family throughout the years. Pistol is Model 2 Army, sn# 19087; manufactured in 1864; with Smith & Wesson history dated 1973. Sword is Groby W. Chelmsford, MASS, marked U.S. 1865 A.G. M; 34.25" blade length. Much wear to both pieces, however a great piece of history with family provenance.
