PHOTOGRAPHS. Nineteen Hollywood photographs; four movie stills, the rest portraits, six with personal dedications to Mark Hansen, including; Gloria Swanson and Jean Hersholt; the Jean Hersholt dedication is written in Danish to fellow countryman Hanson and is a signed Irving Chidnoff portrait photograph. Mark Hansen was part owner of the Florentine Gardens, a successful nightclub on Hollywood Boulevard, he and silent screen actress Alice Calhoun built the Marcal Theater on the same block at 6025 Hollywood Blvd. in 1925, he often had young would be starlets who were employed at the Gardens stay in rental rooms at his home, one of whom was Beth Short, the "Black Dahlia", his leather address book was found amongst her effects and he was questioned by the police in her murder, all photographs in good condition, largest 13 ¾" x 10 ¾" viewed.
