VICTOR GILBERT (FRENCH 1847 - 1933) OIL ON CANVAS

An oil on canvas measuring 21.75 x 18 inches, 29 x 26 inches overall. Signed lower right, nicely framed. From a Kansas City estate.

Craquelere, smudging and considerable paint loss to extreme lower right corner around the signature area, repair just below the bird cage, scattered long lines of drip show under black light, very light soiling, only four small touches of inpainting overall. Brown black signature shows dark under ultra violet light.
