Antique Japanese gouache on paper painting of bushido training school with samurai students and master. Probably mid 19th Century or earlier. Possibly painted on rice paper with gold leaf under. Laid down on board. Possible character signature upper right; appears to have been painted over. Image: 15 1/2" x 22 1/2". Gold gilded wood frame: 23" x 29". Weight: 4 lbs. Condition: traces of mat glue on margins; wear and tear overall; minor buckling.
