OIL PAINTING CANVAS HAITIAN JEAN-CLAUDE SEVERE

Late 20th Century oil primitive folk painting on canvas signed l.r. Jean-Claude Severe. Scene depicts figures drawing water from a tap. Stretcher: 24" x 20". Frame: 21" x 25". Weight: 2.4 lbs. Condition: Good with some scratches; foxing spots verso. Listed artist, Jean-Claude Severe (Haiti) was born In Cap Haitian in the 50's and was a student of Philome Obin. Severe decided in the late 1970's to forsake painting in favor of the steady pay check and opted to work on cruise ships for the next twenty years.
