Massachusetts William and Mary walnut veneer flat top high chest in two parts, ca. 1740, the upper section now fitted with a set of walnut china steps, above a case with two short and three graduated long drawers, all inlaid with crotch walnut and outlined with herringbone crossbanding, the lower section with three small drawers above a deeply arcaded skirt, continuing to baluster and trumpet turned legs joined by a flat serpentine stretcher raised on ball feet, 62'' h., 37'' w. - without china stand.

Brasses replaced. A few patches to stretcher. Legs, feet and majority of stretcher are original. Surface condition - legs are a little more polished than case.
