Large 8vo (274 x 178 mm). 58 numbered leaves of 306, 54 lines and headline, Gothic type, three- to eight-line initial spaces, some with guide-letters, rubricated. Modern paper over boards, red edges. Condition: cropped at head and outer margins affecting some headlines and rubrics, some stains. Provenance: ms. annotations in a 16th-century bookhand. Hain 2805. With three other incunable fragments bound similarly, comprising: Conrad von HALBERSTADT, Concordantiae bibliorum, Basel: Johann Froben, 1496, 116 leaves (Hain *5633); Thomas de ARGENTINA, Scripta super quattuor libros sententiarum, Strassburg: Martin Flach, 1490, 51 leaves (Goff T343); and Guillelmus DURANTIS, Rationale divinorum officiorum, Rome: George Lauer, 1477, 55 leaves (Hain *6477). Condition: a1- a2 lacking, a7-8 tipped in, small hole to outer margin of b2, mild dampstaining, some soiling and wear to fore-edge; extremities rubbed, chipped at joint, ms. title faded. Provenance: unidentified Cardinal (heraldic bookplate of shield topped by Cardinal's hat and fifteen tassels to front pastedown); cancelled inscription in blue ink to front endpaper. Hain 5469.
