Toulouse: Henricus Meyer, after 10 May 1486. 4to (204 x 132 mm). 40 leaves of 256, some with signatures, 41 lines and headline, Gothic type, initial spaces. Modern binding. Condition: browning to some leaves, occasional spotting and dampstaining, inscriptions shaved at outer margins. Provenance: ms. paraphs to outer margins of some leaves, occasional inscriptions in red and black ink. Goff G323; GW 10959; BMC VIII 358. With five other incunable fragments bound similarly, comprising: Johannes Antonius CAMPANUS, Omnia Campani Opera, 1494, 66 leaves (Hain *4285); Jacobus de VORAGINE, Legenda aurea sanctorum, sive Lombardica historia, c.1477, 74 leaves; Nicolaus de AUSMO, Supplementum, Venice: Nicolaus de Frankfordia, 1474, 83 leaves; BARTHOLOMAEUS Pisanus de S. Concordio, Summa de casibus conscientae, Augsburg: Johann Zainer, 1475, 15 leaves (Hain *2528); and Pope GREGORIUS IX, Decretales, Johannes Siber, c.1485, 130 leaves (Hain *7997). [With:] CHRYSOSTOMUS, Johannes, Saint (345?-407). Opera. (Accipe candidissime lector opera Diui Joannis chrisostomi archiepiscopi constantinopolitani). Venice: Bernardini Stagnini & Gregorius de Gregoriis, February 1503. Folio (315 x 214 mm). Woodcut chapter initials, some with historiation. Reverse calf. Condition: significant worming to at least a third of volume affecting some text; binding with extremities rubbed, corners bumped. Sold not subject to return.(6)
