Chinese Ivory Carving w/Figures and Spheres

Intricate Chinese ivory carving consisting of sphere between figures representing 2 of the 8 Taoist Immortals, ca. mid-nineteenth century. On a pedestal surmounting the sphere, a figure playing with a deer is symbolic of wealth; supporting the sphere from below, a figure holding a Feiyu is seated on a base carved with fish and crabs. 2 movable smaller spheres, 1 inside the other, fit within the larger outer sphere; all are decorated with intricate hand-carving.
Dimensions: approximately 7"H x 2" diameter
