English silver hunter cased presentation watch, Sam Buckley & Co., London, serial # 32465E, and engraved on the back "Presented by the Government of Canada to Mr. John R. Stiles, Light Keeper at Grindstone Island in Recognition of His Humane and Gallant Exertions in the Rescue of the Crew of the Brigantine "Annie Bogart" of Digby, N.S. on the 22nd, December 1881".
Condition reportWe wound the watch slightly and it did run, unknown if it keeps time or how long it continues to run.
Mahogany case with mother-of-pearl cartouche and green felt interior appears to be the original case, and if not, the watch has been in it for a long time.
