German WWI Pioneer trench axe. 2 5/8" x 10 1/4" iron "tomahawk" shaped head, with metal straps and a retaining sleeve. 18 3/4" fitted wood shaft is stamped "HAXVIII" and is dated "1915". Shows some period use.
