a bird's eye perspective view, in oval, watercolour over pencil, heightened with body white, 185 x 260mm., framed and glazed, c.1880.

***The Palais de la Trocadero was built for the 1878 Paris Exposition, and this spectacular view may well have been produced for publicity purposes. It was demolished in 1937 and replaced by the Palais de Chaillot for the Exposition of that year. .
