Helen Hodge was a prolific but quiet local artist who rendered beautiful still lifes and colorful landscapes. Many of her works are found around Topeka. This is a great still life wonderfully presented in an original 1930's era frame. The artist is recognized in many books including: An Encyclopedia of Women Artists of the American West, Art Across America, Dictionary of Women Artists, International Dictionary of Women, Who Was Who in American Art, Dictionary of American Artists, Who Was Who in American Art and others. The image here measures 18 x 14 inches oval and overall the size is 22 x 18.
