Gimballed Box Compass by Lorkin, London, with brass gimbal, frame and stop lever, 2 3/4 in. dia. paper card with compass bearings in block lettering, fleur-de-lis at North, outer perimeter calibrated 0-90 in four quadrants and signed in the riband Lorkin London, in a dovetailed mahogany box, ht. 3 1/2 in.

Condition: While the compass looks original to the box and there are no vacant hinge mortices, it is probable that there was once a cover to box.
