GILBERT STUART PAINTING PORTRAIT OF CYRUS BLAKE

Early 19th century oil on canvas painting by an exceptional early American portrait artist, believed to be by Gilbert Stuart. Portrait depicts Admiral Cyrus Blake. Artwork is in good condition but there is what appears to be candle or fireplace heat marking on the lower third. Frame is marked and dated with small plaque, Cyrus Blake 1800. Frame has some minor losses. Canvas measures 30" high by 25" wide. Overall dimensions 38" high by 33" wide by 3 1/2" deep. Approximate shipping weight : 14 lbs. See images.
