Description
Federal Mahogany Tall Clock, Joshua Wilder, Hingham, Massachusetts, c. 1810, with pierced fret and finial plinths, brass stop-fluted hood and waist columns, line and fan inlays, two-stage molded base with ogee bracket feet, 12 in. painted iron "Osborne" dial with floral spandrels, bird and flowers in the arch and signed Joshua Wilder, Hingham, eight-day brass time and strike movement with rack and snail strike, period brass-cased weights and brass-faced pendulum bob, (restoration), ht. 88 in.
Condition
Condition: Hood door glass cracked, repairs to object left crown molding, replacement hands, fret and plinths are replacements although finials are period, object left side lite cracked, feet essentially original with some reinforcement and repairs, one movement support spacer on stile is a recent addition.
