Checker Cabinet. Theo Bamberg, Chicago, ca. 1947. Exquisitely crafted and attractively decorated "club size" Checker Cabinet for the magical transposition of a stack of checkers and a glass full of rice. With original checkers, tube and glassware. Hand-painted finish and decal work, per Bamberg's exacting standards. Light wear to finish at corners and extremities, and two unobtrusive stress cracks in roof, otherwise very good condition.

Constructed by Bamberg during his time as an employee of Joe Berg, this impressive, attractive cabinet has had only two owners in the ensuing years: Howard Huntington and Walter Graham, both of Omaha, Nebraska. Included with the cabinet is a table built by Roy Tatroe, a window display craftsman from Omaha, which Huntington used in his performances of the trick.
