Frank William Cuprien, Oil Painting on Canvas

Frank William Cuprien, 1871-1948. Painting titled "The Fog Bank," and depicts rolling waves at sunset with possibly Catalina Island, and a bank of fog in the distance. The painting is a masterpiece in size, subject matter and an impeccabale provenance. Has never before been offered at auction. The painting was purchased in the 1930's by the owner Mr. , whom was Henry Fords first employee. Measuring 28.25" H x 40 & 1/8" W; signed F.W. Cuprien in lower right. Monogrammed and titled en verso in oil paint. In original frame that was probably made and painted by the artist along with the original light, which is also painted by the artist. A truly fresh-to-the-market piece that has never been cleaned or touched up. Only slight craquelure visible and would be truly amazing when cleaned. Private collection from St. Clair, Michigan.
