Domashnikov Boris Fedorovich (Russian, 1924 – 2003) March. Oil on canvas. Signed on verso. Dated 1975. Size 52 X 60 cm. Boris Domashnikov, the brilliant artist and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, was one of the most striking followers of Russian Impressionism Art in Russia during the second half of the 20th century. He was shaped as an artist in post-war Ufa, where his teachers played a central role in developing his exceptional talent and in helping him realize his childhood dream of becoming an artist. Alexandr Tulkin and Porfiri Lebedev were the most important teachers to influence the young Domashnikov. He specialized in landscape painting. First exhibited in 1953, since 1957 he repeatedly participated in the All-Union art exhibitions, since 1959 exhibited also abroad. In 1957, he was awarded with a Silver Medal for his painting, City Outskirts Towards Evening. He had numerous one-man shows: in Ufa in 1953, 1963, 1978, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1995, 1999, and 2000, in Birsk in 1977, in Moscow in 1985, in Magnitogorsk in 1989, in Leningrad and other Russian cities in 1963. His works are in the M.V. Nesterov Bashkortostan State Art Museum.
