PLATINUM, RUBY [3.75 CT] & DIAMOND RING:With one center oval shaped brilliant cut ruby measuring 10.25 x 8.55 x 5.12 mm and weighing by formula 3.75 carat. The natural ruby (corundum) has a red hue with medium tone and moderately strong saturation, GIA Gem Set notation R/5/4. The ruby is secured in the mounting with half-bezels and the shoulders of the ring are each flush set with 1 brilliant cut half moon shaped diamond and 1 triangular brilliant cut diamond. The straight side of the half-moons are set parallel with short side of the triangular brilliants in the mounting. The half moons average 7.62 x 3.77 x 2.15 mm with a total approximate total weight of 1.03 carat and are graded VS1-2 in clarity and G-H in color. The triangular brilliant diamonds average 7.15 x 7.0 x 3.35 mm with a total approximate weight of 2.00 carat and are graded SI1 and I1 in clarity with a fancy yellow hue graded fancy light yellow. The cast and polished ring measures 13.1 mm at the top of the ring and graduates down to 7.4 mm at the bottom of the shank and is stamped "PLAT". The ring is a size 10 and has a total gem and metal weight of 38.1 grams. The ruby does not show evidence of High temperature heat treatment and is the color associated with Burmese origin. A gem grading report from the American Gem Trade Laboratory (AGTA) would confirm these findings and offer a premium to a buyer.
