18th C, glass & gold leaf Chippendale Mirror

Sign In to see what this sold for

A large Chippendale gilt wood mirror, 64" tall and 30" across, the rectangular mirror topped with a Phoenix bird over scrolling floras with flanking bell flower swags. The owner reportedly acquired this mirror from the Philadelphia Estate of Thomas Logan's Stenton over 30 years ago. Some repairs to the frame include the glue repair of some damaged carvings, although it appears that all the original carving is there. The mirror is old, but may not be original.

Condition report

Some repairs to the frame include simple glue repair of some damaged carvings, and it does appear that all the original carving is there. The mirror is old, but never be sure its the original.
