433. CHARLES A. LINDBERGH (1902-1974). American aviator, the first to fly nonstop in a solo flight across the Atlantic in 1927. A national hero, he was dubbed "Lucky Lindy" by an adoring public and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his autobiography, The Spirit of St. Louis, (1953). Vintage ISP, b/w, image 4¾"x6½", overall 6"x8" casual full-length portrait of the aviator with his wife ANNE MORROW LINDBERGH (1907-2001) standing outside of what is most likely their home near Hopewell, NJ. Each has darkly signed beside image in fountain pen, Charles adding "Feb 3, 1934"; and his wife signing "To Uncle Mac from Anne." Fine intimate example. Beautifully matted within decorative gilt frame. Overall 12"x13¾". Est: $1500-2500
