Martin Brothers Glazed Stoneware Barrister "Wally-Bird" Tobacco Jar and Cover, dated 1889 and signed to cover and body, the bemused bird with curved beak and tilted slightly forward and to the right, on an ebonized wood base, ht. of bird 10 1/2, overall 12 1/2 in.

Condition: Small firing flaw to inner lip of lid; else excellent.
