Title: Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How More Than One Hundred Men Have Recovered from Alcoholism

Description: viii, [2], 400 pp. 9x6, original red cloth, lettered in gilt, custom red cloth box with black morocco labels. First Edition, First printing.Inscribed on the title page: "Dear Cracker - For your help in making AA what it is, all my gratitude. Ever yours, Bill Wilson. NY 6/27/67." Additionally inscribed at the head of page 274: "With best wishes to Cracker S., Clarence H. Snyder "The Brewmeister"". Snyder was one of founding members of AA and his own story "Home Brewmeister" begins on this page. Bill Wilson and Clarence Snyder were known to disagree on the subject of anonymity, Snyder did not support the concept. The gentleman to whom the volume is inscribed, Leonard A. (Cracker) Smith has written his name and address on the front pastedown endpaper. On the contents pages the identities of the authors of the Personal Stories have all been identified in pencil with their full names and home cities.

Cloth well worn, head and heel of spine frayed, corners rubbed, some soiling, rear hinge repaired; pages yellowed and with some staining; fair to good.
