Rookwood Vellum 5 1/2" vase, scenic, Sax

Charming Vellum Glaze vase decorated in 1912 by Sara Sax, who arranged three scenic panels across the vessel, each panel displaying weeping pussy willow branches, with one of the panels featuring a yellow full moon. Marked with the Rookwood insignia, the date, shape 2000, an incised and an impressed V to designate Vellum and Miss Sax' cypher. The vase displays the artist's stylistic talents and her excellent use of color in addition to benefitting from there being no crazing. Height is 5 1/2 inches.
