Rookwood 7 7/8" vase, Hentschel, Japanese figures

Broad vase decorated in 1921 by William Hentschel, who encircled the vessel with vignettes of Japanese folk engaged in various activities, all colorfully arrayed against a creamy ground. Impressed with the Rookwood symbol, the date and shape number 2466 and incised with the artist's monogram. An exhibition label from the Cleveland Museum of Art is affixed to the bottom.Uncrazed and in excellent original condition. Height is 7 7/8 inches.
