artist's label verso "Pope Pius II canonizing St. Catherine of Sienna", artist's label verso; "Pope Pius II (Aeneas Piccolomini) leaves for the Council of Basle", both unsigned, watercolor and gouache with gilding on paper, after Pinturicchio (1454-1513), Italian, late 19th/early 20th century, both 15-3/8 x 8 in.; matching original early 20th century gilt wood frames with Chicago frame labels verso and backed with 1902 newspapers. Good condition, colors very fresh; frames with abrasions. Provenance: Private Collection.
