woman in a gold velvet gown with blue sash and holding a book, unsigned, oil on canvas, oval 12 x 10-1/4 in.; 20th century oval gilt wood frame. Restretched on old stretcher, lined, retouch in face, background, dress and hair, flaking, some areas of overcleaning; frame with abrasions. Provenance: Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
