Description
laminated mahogany half hull of the Hudson River paddle steamship [Drew,] 1866, attached brass label "Built for Daniel Drew's People's Line of Hudson River. Thomas Collyer, Builder; E. Crowly, Arch.", 45-1/2 in., [large chips at one end, other dents and scrapes, possibly refinished,] mounted to later mahogany board, 51 in.; accompanied by hand-drawn architectural rendering of the midsection of a ship inscribed "E. Crowly, 360 Carleton Av. Brooklyn", and in lower right corner "Thomas Collyer/Ship Builder…New York", 13 x 18-3/4 in. (sight), in bird's-eye maple frame, [several small pencil marks, smudges and light toning, not examined out of frame;] half hull and drawing with Christie's labels.
