tapered 9-1/4 in. barrels with gold inlaid decoration, finely carved stocks with scroll and tassel motifs, butt with fine silver thread inlay, lockplate marked "Pierre Peyret" (French, 1712-1776), ornate cast silver mounts including bird's head at base of grip, silver mounts on each with oval monogram "SM", circa 1740, 15-1/4 in. Stock with several repaired separations, one belt clip lacking screw, several mounts slightly loose, one with slight loss to tigger gruard. Provenance: Property of a Descendant of Anthony Morris of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The "SM" is likely that of Samuel Morris (1734 - 1812).
