Important New York Windsor armchair,

sack back with boldly turned arm supports, legs and stretchers, plank seat, traces of early green paint, partial label for Thomas and William Ash, New York, fourth quarter 18th century, 35-1/4 x 25 x 16 in. Plank seat with cracks, later butterfly and metal braces underneath, possible restoration to arm supports, extensive wear overall. Provenance: Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
