(New Hampshire/Massachusetts, 1817-1907), still life, apples, grapes and glass on a table, signed lower right "B Champney", oil on canvas, note verso "Born New Ipswich, N.H. This painting came out of the house in which the artist was born, the John Preston Homestead, New Ipswich, boyhood home of the artist", 6 x 10 in.; 19th century wood veneer frame with label for "Henry R. Johnson, Massachusetts". Original stretcher and tacking edge, retouch two points at top middle. Provenance: Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
