arched and painted wooden dial signed "Alex T. Willard Ashby (Alexander Willard, working Ashby, Massachusetts, early 19th century), floral and gilt spandrels, inlaid waisted case with arched, turned and pierced fretwork and three finials, 86-3/4 x 21-1/4 x 11 in. Works, weights and pendulum associated and out of period, saddle board replaced, breaks and repairs with later braces to arched door, breaks and repairs to feet with one front foot facing missing, other breaks and repairs to feet, minor breaks to fretwork, crackle and some paint losses to dial especially Roman numerals. Provenance: Inside door of clock with typed note "This clock was made by Alex T. Willard of Ashby, Mass. for John Buttrick of Peppurlo…"; Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
