the abduction of Daniel Boone's daughter, Jemima, oil on canvas, 19th century, 30 x 24 in.; late 19th century Italian style gilt wood and composition frame. Restretched on new stretcher, lined with wax and linen, retouch primarily in background with some on horse and affecting 30 percent of surface, bloom, 1 in. loss upper left corner, crackle, cupping, abrasions, grime; frame with loss to composition. Provenance: Private Collection, Asheville, North Carolina.
