George Washington needlework,

large-scale wool and silk needlework of Washington crossing the Delaware, after Emmanuel Leutze's 1851 painting (German/American, 1816-1868), original eglomise mat inscribed "Washington Crossing the Delaware/by Emma Ehrlich 1865", probably American, circa 1865, 25-1/2 x 36 in. (sight); original gilt wood and composition fluted cove-molding frame. Slight fading; frame resurfaced, several losses to eglomise mat and frame, not examined out of frame. Provenance: Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
