George Washington autograph document,
partially printed ship's passport in French, English and Dutch, for the schooner [Fanny,] commanded by James Williams, traveling from Boston to St. Croix with 65 tons of cargo, dated January 17, 1795, boldly signed "G. Washington", countersigned by Secretary of State Edmund Randolph, 15-1/4 x 12-1/2 in. (sight); modern wood frame. Archivally mounted, toning, fading, foxing, light soiling, stains, creases, tears and minor losses (some with repairs), not examined out of frame. Provenance: Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
