Washington fire helmet insignia,

relief bust of George Washington, pencil inscription verso "Ornament from the helmet of the Washington Engine Company of Philadelphia, est. 1793", 2-7/8 x 2-1/2 in., mounted in mahogany veneer frame. Not removed from frame, probably silver plate, borders of bust with residue, chips and losses to frame. Provenance: Estate of the Late William and Priscilla Carlebach, Mystic, Connecticut and Bedford, New York.
