Monumental Kemenyffy Raku Vase and Stand

Susan and Steven Kemenyffy, 20th C., Pennsylvania. Sculpture artists trained in two separate disciplines, printmaking and pottery, both gaining masters degrees from the University of Iowa. They have combined their skills with a knowledge of raku firing and the techniques of making low fired glazed ware to produce pieces of monumental structure with rich colorful surfaces. They have numerous publications, participated in many exhibitions and have taught numerous lectures and workshops. Their works are collected by The Smithsonian, The Carnegie Museum, Cinncinnati Art Museum, Everson Museum of Art, The Museum of Contemporary Arts to name a few. Very large vase with large swirled handles. Vase istself has various floral designs in colors of white, blues, orange, pinks, purples and green. Comes with custom made pyramid style stand with faux black and white marble. Vase measures 52" H x 22.5" W x 9.5" D. Base measures 23" H. Excellent condition.
