Includes an interesting signed letter from Edward Hewitt dated 1955 to "My dear Collins", in which Hewitt orders a rod and states "I hope you can make me a better rod than I now have and if so I can say "you make now a better rod than Leonard" which would give me great pleasure. Their work is not now as good as it was when the old man Mills was alive". And, a signed letter dated 1964 by "Pinky" Gillum mentioning he is "pushed with orders". Also, a 1958 and (2) 1942 letters on Orvis letterhead, one 1942 letter is written to Mr. Payne requesting help from the E.F. Payne Rod Company for the war effort ("present emergency"), explicitly, bamboo ski poles for the Army. Five total.
