Walt Dette is credited with widely sharing his knowledge in an era when it was rare for a skilled tier to reveal his techniques. His use of classic patterns successfully continued the appreciation and evolution of the Catskill fly. The Dette's story was immortalized in Eric Leiser's 1992 book "The Dettes A Catskill Legend". Professional 18" x 7 1/4" frame houses shadowbox mounted flies tied by Walt, Winnie and Mary Dette. Also included is an enameled metal medallion "Catskill Fly Tiers 1928 Walt Winnie Mary Dette", and all three highly respected tiers' signatures. Reverse includes an article written about Walt Dette.
