Framed Hair Frog Fly Tied by Joe Messinger

Joe Messinger Sr., of Morgantown, West Viriginia, is credited with inventing the ultimate deer hair frog in 1925. This early example is a Messinger Sr. original, framing includes a signature by his son, Joe Messenger Jr. and a sepia toned photo of Joe Sr. Frame measures 19 1/2" x 10 1/8". Also included is a certificate of authentication from the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum stating this frog was given to the museum for fundraising purposes and is signed by the executive director. Frog is in very good condition, possibly having been fished.
