Considered the finest of the Chippewa tribal carvers of Lac du Flambeau, Allen, Sr. carves his unmistakable fish from basswood logs with a pocket knife, producing not only utilitarian decoys, but artful forms, such as this example. Attractive 6 1/2" crappie exhibits hammered in scales, green bead eyes, and tail/fin detail. In excellent condition throughout.
