Very unusual 10 1/4" decoy from "One of the most important makers of fish decoys in the state of Minnesota", according to Kimball's Fish Decoy Book. Not only does this fish deviate from most known examples of Charlie Slecta's copper fish in that it has no pierced detail, but it is stamped with the decoy and maker's name and address: Brings 'M In Ice Decoy C.P. Slechta 3228 Longfellow Minneapolis, Minn. Notice the spelling of the name, which includes an "h". Decoy is in very good unpolished condition with light surface wear from use. To our knowledge, this is one of only a handful of Slecta/Slechta decoys that retains his stamped name, and one of even fewer without perforations.
