Measuring only 5 3/8" tall, this handmade circa early 1900's creel has a pronounced bow as would be required for use by a child. Construction includes cut in leather with ring strap hangers and hand cut nails throughout. With straight sides and a hinged top of pine, this miniature classic form creel has a nice mellow patina with remnants of light green paint. In very good condition with typical splits common to this type of creel, a few nails added over time, and a separated leather latch strap (section present). To our knowledge, this is the only child size all wood creel to come to auction, a must for the serious creel collector.
