Unusual and scarce "watermelon" shaped creel, American, made of woven splint. In old green paint with the original leather strap. In good condition with some paint loss and splint loss mostly to the bottom right. Measures 17" wide. Primitive construction, as this form usual is, but well made. Early utilitarian creels in this form are rarely found intact, especially with the original woven trap.
