Early Primitive Creel

In a "watermelon" shape, of wood splint, with an unusual wood top brace and leather hinged hand carved wood lid. Very early, appears to be mid 1800's, possibly much earlier, with hand cut nails. In fair condition due to a professional replacement of the bottom willow. The repair is very well done, leaving as much of the original weave as was possible. With proper staining, the new material will match the old.
