The Kosmic Commemorative Hand Made German Silver Raised Pillar Trout Reel. With serial number "0", this was the first of 26 reels produced to commemorate the original Kosmic reels built by Julius Vom Hofe at the end of the 19th century. Commissioned by Thomas & Thomas in 1985, this exact duplicate of the original reel built for the Kosmic company established by Payne, Edwards and Thomas was hand built by Hermann Voss, one of the country's master prototype reel builders. With classic raised pillar construction of German silver and Delrin (a hard rubber replacement), with nickel silver pillars, counter balanced handle and foot marked with serial number "0", and aluminum spool flanges with brass arbor. The tail plate houses a sliding click and knurled end cap with Vom Hofe style washer. The head plate is marked "The Commemorative Kosmic Reel - Thomas & Thomas – Makers". With fantastic ascetics matching that of the original reel of more than a century ago, and perfect for a 5 weight line. Comes with original Thomas & Thomas reel bag.
