Only Existing Set of Four Thomas & Thomas Classic Fly Reels. Made in 1978 for Thomas & Thomas by the Hart reel company of Long Island, NY, makers of the Marquessa and Umpqua fly reels. The original plans were to produce four sizes of the Classic reel, however the largest size was dropped before production, making this the only known set to include the 3 5/8" diameter reel – built as a size sample with no handle. The remaining three examples are all fully functional, with a 3 1/4", 3" and 2 3/4"diameter. All having aluminum parts with Delrin side plates, these are all in new unused condition with Thomas & Thomas marked leather reel cases. Truly a one of a kind set of trout reels.
